UX & UI Design | Freelance via Agency | Solo Designer
As the sole UX and UI designer on the onCampus Portal project, I was brought in through an agency to help the University of Colorado Boulder create a streamlined digital experience where students could easily manage housing, dining, and other campus services.
Working independently, I led the UX strategy and interface design from concept to delivery. I collaborated closely with stakeholders and developers to ensure the portal addressed core student needs while being technically feasible and scalable.
One of the key challenges—and opportunities—was designing within CU Boulder’s strict brand guidelines, ensuring every interaction felt cohesive, accessible, and aligned with the university’s identity. I applied these standards across layout, typography, color, and interactive elements to deliver a fully branded experience.
My contributions included:
-
User flow mapping and content prioritization
-
Low- and high-fidelity wireframes
-
Responsive UI design using the university’s brand system
-
Accessibility compliance (WCAG)
-
Developer handoff with detailed specs and QA support
The final product was a clean, intuitive portal used daily by thousands of students—making everyday campus tasks easier and more efficient.
