Original Typeface Design
Every designer has a list of “dream projects” they would kill to work on. After waiting years for a client who I could create a typeface for, I decided it would be easier to work on fun side-projects and make my own dream projects! I wanted to make a typeface…so I created “Bobby Pinned”.
I began with a very rough sketch that I traced on my Cintiq. I enjoyed the contrast between the very thin letter forms with the thicker terminals at the end of each letter. Initially, I was planning on creating a lowercase version of Bobby Pinned as well. I decided against it because the font would be used for headline purposes primarily anyway. In lieu of a lowercase version of Bobby Pinned, I decided that it would be interesting to create a few different weights. Feel free to download Bobby Pinned to use in your work:
